The matte surface on the Shu (red) fountain pen reveals an entirely different color than the polished version. This one takes on a soft sheen as seen in the reflections above. It is also soft to the touch.
On this extreme close-up, one can just see the fine brush strokes of the surface.
This finish reveals a level of craftsmanship and attention that we only see in the finest pens. Notice how the red color varies as it rounds the edge of the cap. This pen will only grow more beautiful with wear and time.
