Bought the pen in 2019 Feburary and it came 2021 June. Special thanks to David for answering my emails (some of the times) they may not respond during this odd period but they will deliver. Pen came in almost perfect condition, there was a really extremely tiny small scuff mark on the barrel, but I just polished it off. The grind is done as requested extrafine spencerian obliqued slightly because I informed them I rotate my pen slightly to the right. It writes surprisingly smooth for the line it produces. they even took time to grind the reverse side of the nib can't ask for more... would definately order from them again

The Heki-tamenuri color is a favorite around the nib works. The earthy tones of the brown over green on this pen shape are deeply appreciated.

Notice the long tapered tale of the barrel and the extra long gripping section. The is a subtle and considered shape hand crafted from solid hard rubber. It fits perfectly at the back of the hand and into the web between thumb and first finger.  For these reasons it is a favorite with calligraphers and people who write a lot. There is no need to post this cap.

The Nakaya nib, imprinted Nakata, the family name of the manufacturer is made of solid 14K gold. Each of these nibs is suitable for our customization to extra flexible. The larger tip sizes can be customized by us into cursive italic, stub or oblique points.

Note that Nakaya nibs run finer than Western nibs of the same named size.

The heavy decorative rice paper, simple solid softwood shipping box and fabric pouch make a lovely presentation for Nakaya Urushi pens. Sensible and elegant packaging have been a hallmark of Nakaya.
