Nakaya Portable Cigar
Maki-e Togi Kiri Crab Fountain Pen

Portable Maki-e Togi Kiri Crab fountain pen
Nakaya originally created this fountain pen for a customer from the UK, modeling it after a Korean Indian ink drawing of a crab.
Inspired by the crab illustration, Nakaya made this fountain pen design by using the ''togi-kiri'' maki-e technique with silver-based lacquer ware to keep the feeling of an Indian ink drawing. This is the first model that Nakaya has done using this color.

Winding around the cap is an eel grass motif which seems to drift with the current. Its full effect can be appreciated by rotating the cap to see the "movement".

When looking at this pen one can almost feel the sand between your toes.
