Long Cigar Kuro-Tamenuri 'Hawk' Fountain Pen
| This is the long cigar (no clip) in kuro-tamenuri with a golden hawk painted around the barrel and a hawk in flight on the cap. |
| The base colors are dark tamenuri over bright red, a color combination that gets more interesting and richer over time. |
| Talons raised, wings spread, this hawk has just taken flight. |
The urushi lacquer surface is both beautiful and durable. This is a pen to last a lifetime or more. These pens honor the passage of time, evolving slowly as the color becomes richer.
Faintly visible on the cap and seen to the left in black on black urushi is the hawk high in the heavens. This barely perceptible image reminds one of the distance that these birds can travel and the beauty of their flight.
