Nakaya Hanuman Fountain Pen |
|
| This is the latest in a limited series from Nakaya paying tribute
to the Hindu Gods of India. Hanuman, a monkey god, is one of the
most important characters in the great epic work known as the
Ramayana. |
 |
| In the Ramayama, Hanuman aids Rama in his
struggle against the evil King Ravana. Hanuman is considered
the most intelligent among the Gods, and is seen as the
eleventh reincarnation of the Lord Shiva. |
|
 |
Rose quartz and coral are used on the surface
of the pen's barrel. This is the first time that coral has
been used as a decorative material during Nakaya's long
history as a creator of extraordinary fountain pens. |
| As always, Nakaya's use of Maki-e
technique is extraordinary. Note also the distinctive red
background, a custom color developed specially for this
pen. |
 |
|
| Custom kanji script reading, "We pray to Lord Nanuman,"
has been specially added to the barrel of the pen photographed
here. |
|
| The surface of this pen utilizes an unusually varied array of
decorative materials--gold in the cloud above right, abalone shell
in the detail seen immediately above, and coral in the pattern
of Lord Hanuman's clothing. |
