Nakaya A Frog With Cherry
Writer Portable Fountain Pen
Two of the most compelling signs of spring are frogs and cherry blossoms. This pen combines them is such a way that one feels cherry trees leaning over the edge of the swamp.
This is the Frog With Cherry fountain pen with a white metal clip. Even with a black background, this is a bright and fanciful pen with an engaging and amusing design. |
| The flowers are made with pink Urushi and gold powders The white is made using raden (sea shells). The frog and some leaves are black urushi created using the Yakoh-nuri technique. |
| The Nakaya tadpole converter is available as an additional option with this pen. Who can resist? |
| The outline of the frog is painted in black urushi on the barrel shown above, while the inside is painted using dark green heki-tamenuri. As time passes and the urushi lacquer matures, this frog will take on a green hue. |
At the crease between the end pieces and the cap, the green Heki-tamenuri color can be seen showing through. |

Note the leaf painted even inside the cap next to the threads. |
