Nakaya Blue Wave Painting
Cigar Piccolo Fountain Pen
This pen exploits the skill of a master urushi craftsmen to create a surface that is soft to the touch and engaging for the eye.
Notice how the surface continues onto the gripping section as well.
Without a clip, the simple form of the Piccolo carries the texture of this pen with elegance. |
| Nakaya mixes some albumen into Urushi lacquer to make stronger viscosity. A special comb-like tool is used to scratch the Urushi surface to express waves. Because they are done by a master's hand, each one is unique. But as you can see there is a consistency to the wave pattern. |
