Nakaya Neo Standard Tame-Sukashi
"Seiryu" (Blue Dragon) Fountain Pen
This dragon motif, seen on other Nakaya fountain pens in Aka-tamenuri and Kuro-tamenuri has been employed here with an all new color, developed by Nakaya. This unique Urushi lacquer color mix, not seen anywhere else gives a stronger sense of the ascending dragon, even when new.
The nature of this color material is such that the longer the pen is used, the more the motif "ascends", becoming more and more evident. This gives double meaning to the "ascending" as the dragon also ascends up the pen in pursuit of the flaming pears, seen on the gripping section.
''Seiryu'' is one of four gods and protects the east direction. "Seiryu" means the ''Blue Dragon'' in Chinese. However, the true color is green or blueish-green, which matches with the color of this artwork.
Note the flaming pearl on the gripping section to the left.
The
Nakaya nib, imprinted Nakata, the family name of the manufacturer, is made of solid
14K gold. Seen here is the rhodium plated Fine soft nib, a cool compliment to the cool blue color of this pen. Each of these nibs is suitable for our customization to extra
flexible. The medium and broad tips can be customized by us into cursive italic,
stub, or oblique points.
This pen is available in the complete range of Nakaya nibs with super-extra-fine to double Broad and Music tips. It is also available with soft or semi-flexible nibs.
Price $1500
This pen looks great with the ruthenium or rhodium plated gold nib. ($50)

For an additional $80.00 for the single
tone and $125 for the two-tone, we can provide the double-slit music nib. It is
much like a stub, with a generous ink delivery. See the Nakaya
nibs page for more details.
The
heavy decorative rice paper, simple solid softwood shipping box, and fabric pen pouch
make a lovely presentation for these Nakaya Urushi pens. Sensible and elegant packaging
has long been a hallmark of the Nakaya brand.
