Photos alone cannot do justice to the warm tones of the red-gold clip, nib, and trim on this pen. The color is close to that seen surrounding the "1912" below right (1912 is the date of the founding of this venerable Italian pen company).

What most catches the eye on both these pens is the sparse shape and intriguing surface. Although the pen has eight facets, the barrel is cut round beneath. Not only does this add mystery and depth to the surface, it provides for an excellent grip.

Montegrappa Nerouno Linea Fountain Pen with ruthenium trim

This is the Nero Uno Linea matte black Chrome Trim pen. The richness of the smoky silver color can only be hinted at in images. Best seen on the clip at the bottom, the ruthenium-colored trim forms a beautiful contrast with the flat matte barrel.
