Montegrappa is the most long-established of Italian pen manufacturers, having opened their doors in 1912. American authors Ernest Hemingway and John Dos Passos are among the many celebrated artists and writers who have used this company's writing instruments. Still produced in the original factory on the banks of the River Brenta near Vicenza, Montegrappa fountain pens have maintained their reputation for meshing lustrous design with smooth writing characteristics.

Original design is the hallmark of the celluloid and sterling silver model Miya. A Greek key fret-worked pattern on the cap band and the convex disk at the end of the barrel are among the design features. The faceted Nero Uno Linea features an octagonal black body with a series of lines engraved on the conical barrel, making this an extremely comfortable pen in the hand. The pen is available in two different trim/finish combinations: Gold trim with a glossy finish and gold nib unit, and Chrome trim with a smoky matte finish and rhodium-plated gold nib.
