Regina Martini has been producing
special fountain pens on a regular basis with a number of different
manufacturers. This is the seventh in the series of her pens.
And this one is particularly
innovative. Manufactured in collaboration with Stipula Pen Co.
of Florence, Italy, this pen takes the snake tradition and gives
it a new twist. Rirst employed by Parker and Waterman's in the
years of the last century, snake pens have been the holy grail
for collectors. The cap clip snake is not unusual. The barrel
snake, however appears to emerge from the barrel. This gives
the pen just the right amount of "creepiness".
Cold blue gemstone eyes, also a tradition
from earlier years, stare menacingly. Both snakes are sterling
silver and carefully wrought.
The Martini swoop letter
"M" logo inlaid with white pigment, embellishes
the top of the cap.
This pen has some heft, at
54.5 grams, nearly double the weight of most resin based pens.
This piston filler pen holds a generous 3 ml of ink.
Made in an edition of only 30 pens worldwide,
this one will probably not be around long. Martini collectors
outnumber the size of this series. We have just a few to offer.
The pen is available in the 18k rhodium
plated Martini nib in the following sizes: Fine, Fine
Flex, Medium, Medium Fine, Broad and 1.3mm Stub.
The signature Martini logo is engraved on all nibs.
