Is it okay if there is ink in the fins of the tip?

| Yes, this is normal and actually the function of
the fins, to catch excess ink. It is particularly common when pens are mostly
empty as there is then a greater volume of air in the reservoir to expand and
contract with changes in temperature and barometric pressure. |
