Classic Pens ZJ1 Mozaique Silver Canvas
This pen is hand made from the hand working of the metal to the superior hand cut ebonite ink feed. Shown here is the 5.8" long model. It is also available 6.0" long. |
| Weighing in at a solid 80 grams the ZJ1 Mozaique has heft. Each pen part is cut from a solid rod of sterling silver or gold. The craftsman literally turns out one part at a time in what is a time consuming and exacting process. Many times as much metal is returned to the smelter as is employed in the final pen. |
| Each pocket clip is hand cut from a block of sterling silver or gold. Paul Rossi, the famous designer and fabricator makes them one at a time. This is the most elegant and well crafted clip I have seen on a pen of this kind. |
The clip facets are sharp, clear and perfectly pitched. The proportions are exquisite. |
| The "canvas" design is easy to hold and even easier to look at. Smooth metal can be hard to hold. This canvas engraving makes this pen a tactile experience. The surface of this pen is created using a 1927 guilloche machine by Marc Murelli. He has reactivated this surface cutting lathe from the Murelli museum in Italy. Each pass of the machine is hand guided so that each of these pens has its own "signature". |
