Tea Time Limited Edition Fountain Pen |
Classic Fountain Pens is proud to announce our first limited
edition pen, Tea Time.
SORRY, ALL SOLD OUT!
|
|
Here at the nib works around three thirty each afternoon,
we set aside all the focus and diligence required to outfit
or restore pens and nibs. The sound of the tea kettle announces
a time to slow down, and once the tea has brewed, we settle
into conversation, discussing everything from books to politics,
movies, friendship. Tea Time is the opposite of coffee time,
it is the time to take time, not to regret its passing! The Tea Time fountain pen is an ideal pen with which
to slow down, to allow thoughts to steep. A steaming cup of tea,
a piece of good paper, your favorite ink and who knows what good
ideas will flow from your hand. |
 |
The design of the Tea Time invokes the pens of the late 1920s
and early 30s-- simple, clean lines, with a great nib for
writing. Each will pen will be marked with the year 2008 plus
a number up to 51 on the pen with gold trim or up to 29 on
the silver trim pen. We have kept the number small with the
expectation of an early sell-out.

The brightness of the red
in this image more closely represents the actual color of this
pen. |

We have found that many of our customers prefer a thick gripping
section. The Tea Time offers a large grip 11.9 mm in diameter. The Tea Time pen weighs 21.8 grams, has a closed length of 5.174 inches and a posted length of 6.695 inches. Its dimensions are identical to that of the Bexley Poseidon Collection. |
|
|
We will offer the complete line of Bexley nibs in this pen including
the usual fine, medium, broad and stub. These can all be modified to either a cursive or formal italic,
oblique or other point of your choice. As will all the
pens we sell, ink flow adjustments will be offered to suit your
preferences. This pen can be used with cartridges or a converter.
Calligraphers such as Ward Dunham find that when this pen is
used with a formal italic point, they have an easier time controlling
the rotation of the pen. It is less quick to twist in the fingers. |

Some Tea Time testimonials... |
January 18, 2008
Dear Jonathan,
I received the Bexley-tea yesterday, and it is superb. I especially appreciate the barrel diameter and the ratio of the cap length to the pen body length. Lovely design and it writes beautifully...
With thanks,

Hello Sharon and Jonathan,
I received the Tea Time Bexley
today, and here is a pen in which everything came out just
so right. The salmon-terra cotta color of the barrel
is framed by a glossy black resin on both ends, and the gold
trim is the perfect accent. The nib, which
John modified to a cursive italic gives crisp width variation
while writing smoothly in fine-medium lines and a nicely tuned
flow that is just where it should be. It is
much too long for me posted, but the pen looks great in the
hand unposted, with black resin framing both ends of the barrel.
And the nib is so elegant, isn't it?
I've bought
enough pens now to know that at any given time one's 'favorite
pen' tends to be the one most recently bought, and so
it doesn't stay favorite that long. This one is going
to break that rule.
Thanks for the fast turnaround
and the great work!
Jim
