Submariner Grande Collection White |
| |
|
|
| At just under 5 3/4" long, capped,
and weighing 20 grams, this white streamline shaped pen exhibits great forward
balance when the cap is posted. Although we do not recommend posting the cap on
any fountain pen, we are willing to make an exception with this one. The cap band
will prevent even the possibility of cracking the cap lip. Because the barrel
is so tapered, the cap fits well down over it, shortening the length of the posted
pen to a graceful, easy to fit in the hand length of 6 3/8". |

The rollerball clip, popular on many of the OMAS
pens dating back to the early 1930's, was originally designed and manufactured
by the Boston Safety Pen Company (BSPC). In 1917 Wahl Pen Company purchased BSPC
and the rights to the rollerball clip patent. Wahl-Eversharp made extensive use
of this clip throughout the 20's and 30's. We believe that the rollerball clip
keeps coming back because of its splendid utility. While it holds the pen firmly
in the pocket, it slides easily on and off. All the Bexley
Submariner pens come with an 18k two-tone nib, hand set by Howard Levy and a cartrige/converter
filling system. They are available in Fine, Medium, Broad and Broad Stub. The
Stub nib is suitable for customization to all forms of italic points up to 1.15
mm. |
| Made of white machined
acrylic, this fountain pen is available in rhodium trim as well as the gold pictured
here. The actual pen color is more ivory than the stark white portrayed in our
images. |
